Provided is a temperature detector (2) capable of sufficiently quickly following changes in the temperature of airflow. A housing (4) is provided with a unique shape and set to guide an airflow flowing in through an entry to a predetermined location in a concentrated manner, wherein the temperature of a gas that flows at the predetermined location is measured directly. The housing (4) comprises: an entry (88) thinly extending in a lateral direction perpendicular to a flow direction of an airflow; a pair of inclined guide walls (18a, 18b) having inclined guide surfaces extending from both sides of the entry (88) and inclined in directions approaching each other toward the flow direction; a pair of regulating walls (20a, 20b) extending in the flow direction from between proximate ends of the pair of inclined guide walls (18a, 18b); and a downstream exit (90) defined between distal ends of the pair of regulating walls. The housing (4) defines a gas flow path such that an airflow flowing in through the entry (88) is guided by the pair of inclined guide walls (18a, 18b), led between the pair of regulating walls (20a, 20b), flows through the pair of regulating walls (20a, 20b), and flows out of the downstream exit (90).
