Abstract:
Provided is a temperature-sensitive fluid fan clutch device that suppresses a "co-rotation" effect when cold and can reduce fan horsepower loss and have low fuel consumption. The temperature-sensitive fluid fan clutch device is provided with: a dam provided to the outer periphery of a drive disc and provided with an annular oil retention chamber at a case supported by a rotary shaft affixed to a drive disc; an oil circulation duct contiguous thereto and provided between a torque transmission chamber and the oil retention chamber; and a valve member that opens/closes an oil circulation duct hole of the oil retention chamber as a result of temperature changes of a temperature-sensitive body. The effective contact area of oil at the torque transmission gap formed by the drive side and driven side is increased/decreased, controlling the rotary torque transmission from the drive side to the driven side. The temperature-sensitive fluid fan clutch device is characterized by providing at least two of each of the dam and the oil circulation duct, and by at least one of the at least two oil circulation ducts being provided with an oil recovery valve member that opens/closes independently.
