Title:
TENSION BEARING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/013929
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a tension bearing, which is one of various auxiliary elements provided in a vehicle engine. The tension bearing is driven by a crank shaft of the engine via a belt, and serves as an essential element for power transmission of an engine belt system, applying initial tension to the belt and preventing vibration thereof. To describe in more detail, the tension bearing includes: a cage integrally formed with belt supporting threads on an outer peripheral surface, and having a shaft main body coupling hole formed inside and annular spaces formed between an inner surface of a pulley and a shaft main body; and the pulley formed with roller bearing mounting grooves at both sides of the shaft main body coupling hole. Furthermore, the tension bearing includes: a plurality of rollers and springs received in the cage, the springs supporting the rollers; the shaft main body mounted in the pulley to be able to rotate with respect to the pulley and concentrically disposed in the pulley in the radial direction; the roller bearings axially disposed in the annular spaces formed between the pulley at both sides of the shaft main body coupling hole and the shaft main body; and washer rings secured at both side ends of the plurality of rollers in contact therewith. The tension bearing of the present invention has an advantage in the economic sense since working time is reduced in the manufacture and maintenance thereof. In addition, it is possible to improve profitability since maintenance and the shape and assembly of the components are simplified.
