Abstract:
A tension roller (1) for applying tension to a wire material (4) to be wound into a winding core (6) is provided with: a roller main body (11) provided so as to be capable of rotating; and an annular part (12) which is provided to the outer periphery of the roller main body (11), rotates in conjunction with the roller main body (11), and is to have the wire material (4) wound therearound. The annular part (12) is formed from a plurality of small piece members (12a) which are capable of moving in the radial direction of the roller main body (11). An impelling part (13) is provided which is disposed between the roller main body (11) and each of the small piece members (12a), impels the small piece members (12a) in directions away from the roller main body (11), and changes the distance between the roller main body (11) and the small piece members (12a).
