In a pin tenter, a film is conveyed with both side ends thereof supported by pins (72) and pin plates (73). When the film is released from the pins (72) and the pin plates (73), the pins (72) and the pin plates (73) are delivered to a jet wind cleaning area (83). In the jet wind cleaning area (83), the pins (72) and the pin plates (73) are covered by a chamber (202). Jet wind is then directed against the pins (72) and the pin plates (73) in the chamber (202). This application of jet wind against the pins (72) and the pin plates (73) removes foreign substances from the pins (72) and the pin plates (73) such as liquefied or solidified film additives and punching scraps produced when the pins (72) are inserted into the film. The foreign substances are discharged from the chamber (202) through a suction nozzle.
