This terminal device is provided with: a millimeter-wave communication unit that performs, with a first base station device, millimeter-wave communication using millimeter waves; a microwave communication unit that performs, with a second base station device, microwave communication using microwaves; a sensor unit that acquires information relating to the direction or the position of the terminal device; and a control unit, which selects the millimeter-wave communication or the microwave communication on the basis of the information relating to the direction or the position of the terminal device.
