[Problem] To enable implementation of starting and stopping of a predetermined function on the device side. [Solution] A terminal device (50) is provided with: a first communication unit (51) connected to a translation means (60); a second communication unit (52) with a short communication-enabled distance compared with the first communication unit (51); and a communication control unit (53) that, after receiving information about another terminal device (70) via the second communication unit (52), controls the start of communication of the first communication unit (51) with the translation means (60) on the basis of the information about the other terminal device (70).
