Abstract:
The present invention discloses a terminal equipment and control method thereof. The terminal equipment comprises a SIM card, a selective switch, a central processing unit, and a modem; the selective switch is connected to the SIM card, the central processing unit, and the modem; the modem is connected to the SIM card by means of the selective switch; when the central processing unit detects a first signal, the central processing unit generates a control signal according to the first signal and controls the selective switch by means of the control signal, enabling the central processing unit to connect to the SIM card by means of the selective switch. By the described means, the present invention enables a SIM card to connect to a modem or central processing unit, thus avoiding the problem of being unable to connect to a carrier by means of the SIM card when the modem fails; furthermore, when a terminal equipment connects to a fixed network, the terminal equipment authenticates directly by means of the SIM card.
