This terminal 12 is provided with: a terminal body 15 including a counterpart connection section 17 for connecting with a counterpart terminal, a wire connection section 20 for connecting with a wire 11, and a coupling section 30 for coupling the counterpart connection section 17 and the wire connection section 20 together; and a shell fitted to the outside of the wire connection section 20. The wire connection section 20 has clamping sections 18A, 18B that extend in the direction in which the wire 11 extends and that clamp the wire 11 together; the shell has pressure-applying sections 25A, 25B for applying pressure to the clamping sections 18A, 18B toward the wire 11; the counterpart connection section 17 has a counterpart bottom wall 50, and a counterpart side wall 53 formed standing up toward a predetermined standing direction from the counterpart bottom wall 50; the wire connection section 20 has a wire-side bottom wall 51, and a wire-side side wall 54 that stands up toward the standing direction from the wire-side bottom wall 51; and the coupling section 30 couples the counterpart bottom wall 50 and the wire-side bottom wall 51 at an incline in the direction opposite the standing direction, from the wire-side bottom wall 51 toward the counterpart bottom wall 50.
