Insertion failures occurring when a terminal is inserted into a cavity are reduced as much as possible. A terminal inserting device for inserting terminals of terminal-equipped wires into cavities (12, 14) formed in a terminal insertion housing (10). The terminal inserting device is provided with: a terminal inserting guide section (76) having formed thereon an insertion guide surface (77) for guiding a terminal toward the opening of a cavity (12, 14) and positioning the end of the terminal-equipped wire with the tip of the terminal disposed within the opening of the cavity (12, 14); and a terminal insertion drive mechanism section for gripping the terminal-equipped wire by a pair of gripping sections (86, 87) and inserting the terminal, which is positioned by the terminal insertion guide section (76), into the cavity (12, 14).
