Title:
TERRESTRIAL MAGNETISM DETECTION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/129288
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a terrestrial magnetism detection device in which a triaxial sensor is employed to detect terrestrial magnetism, wherein the accuracy of subsequent detection or calculation can be evaluated when calibration processing is performed to obtain a reference point of origin for spherical coordinates. Correction coordinate point data (Di') of a terrestrial magnetic vector is calculated on the basis of detection output from three terrestrial magnetism sensors. The calculated correction coordinate point data (Di') is expressed as coordinate points on correction spherical coordinates (G0) calculated by means of calibration processing. R.cosI is obtained from the angle of magnetic dip (I) of a terrestrial magnetic vector (M) and the radius (R) of the correction spherical coordinates (G0), and the accuracy of the detection or calculation is evaluated from the R.cosI and the deviation (δR) of the correction coordinate point data (Di') with respect to the radius (R).
