Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a feature capable of limiting reduction in the water absorbency of fiber products while conferring softness. [Solution] The present invention relates to one kind of compound represented by general formula (1) or a mixture comprising two or more kinds of compounds represented by general formula (1), and to a liquid softening agent composition comprising said compound or mixture as a softening agent base. The liquid softening agent composition can be effectively used, for example, for hair, wigs, toupées, clothing, fibers, paper products and fabric products. [In the formula, R1-R4 can be the same or different and of the four substituting group sites represented as R1-R4, an average of 1.6-2.0 sites are hydrophobic substituting groups obtained from C8 to C22 saturated, unsaturated or branched fatty acid residues and the rest are hydrogen atoms; m is an integer 2-6; n, o, p and q can be the same or different and are integers 1-4; and AO is a C2 to C4 oxyalkylene group.]
