Title:
TEST METHOD FOR DEPRESSION SYMPTOMS AND SCREENING METHOD OF THERAPEUTIC AGENT THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/049960
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
By analyzing intestinal bacterial flora, the present inventors found intestinal bacteria specific to depression symptoms. Detection of these bacteria enables differential diagnosis of depression symptoms associated with neuropsychiatric disorders, cancer or circulatory disorders. Moreover, these bacteria are usable as an index in screening a drug which is efficacious against depression symptoms. The present inventors also found intestinal bacteria showing a recovery to a level comparable to a control upon dosing of (R)-ketamine. Thus, a patient highly sensitive to (R)-ketamine can be selected by analyzing the intestinal bacterial flora.
