Abstract:

Disclosed is a compound which is useful as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for diabetes and hardly causes an adverse side effect such as increase in body weight, accumulation of adipocytes, and hypertrophy of the heart. Specifically disclosed is a compound represented by formula (I) [wherein each symbol is as defined in the description], a salt of the compound, or a prodrug of the compound or the salt, which is useful as a prophylactic or therapeutic agent for diabetes and hardly causes an adverse side effect such as increase in body weight, accumulation of adipocytes, and hypertrophy of the heart.
