Abstract:
The present invention relates to a textile treatment device having a sensor having a conductive electrode for identifying the textile type. The sensor has a non-conductive coating on the electrode, and a control unit detects the signal resulting from the triboelectric effect generated when the sensor contacts clothes to identify the textile type by comparing the measured signal value with the values stored in the memory of the control unit. The textile treatment device is for example a washing machine, a dryer or an iron, and the identified textile type is used to adjust operating parameters of the device.
