Abstract:
A preventive and/or therapeutic agent for diabetes and/or complications of diabetes which functions based on a new mechanism. The protease-inhibiting compound, e.g., a compound represented by the general formula (I): [Chemical formula 1] (I) (wherein all the symbols have the same meanings as in the description), a salt thereof, a solvate of either, or a prodrug of any of these, is useful as a preventive and/or therapeutic agent for diabetes and/or complications of diabetes.
