Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a therapeutic or prophylactic agent for osteoporosis, said agent targeting a molecule causative of the onset of osteoporosis, and a method for screening the therapeutic or prophylactic agent. Provided is a therapeutic agent for osteoporosis which comprises a compound, said compound targeting, as a target molecule, HIF1α, which has been identified as a molecule causative of osteoporosis, and being capable of inhibiting HIF1α. Also provided is a method for screening a compound which is usable as a therapeutic or prophylactic agent for osteoporosis with the use of the inhibition of HIF1α as an index.
