Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for preparing hydroxy arene in which a functional group is introduced to an ortho or meta position of a phenolic compound, using a thermal dehydroboration of a hydroxy arene boronic acid compound and, more specifically, relates to a method for preparing a hydroxy arene compound in which a functional group is introduced to an ortho or meta position from a phenol, by substituting the ortho or para position of the phenol with a boronic acid, then introducing the functional group to the ortho or meta position and preparing a hydroxy arene boronic acid compound, and removing the boronic acid using thermal dehydroboration. The method for preparing the hydroxyl arene compound, according to the present invention, is economical because the method does not require any metal catalyst, such as palladium or iridium, and does not require demanding processes such as strong acid or base conditions, low temperature reactions, or reactions of anhydrous conditions. In addition, it is possible to simply prepare the hydroxyl arene compound in which the functional group is introduced to the ortho or para position from the phenol.
