Abstract:
Provided is a thermal detection element configured so that the size thereof can be reduced and high sensitivity and high-speed response can be achieved. A thermoelectric conversion element 10 comprises: a substrate 11; a thin-film thermoelectric conversion layer 12 that is layered on the substrate 11; a high temperature-side first electrode 13 that is disposed on one surface of the thermoelectric conversion layer 12; a low temperature-side second electrode 15 that is disposed on the other surface of the thermoelectric conversion layer 12; and an absorption layer 18 that is layered in contact with the one surface of the thermoelectric conversion layer 12, and that absorbs heat received from the outside. One surface of the thermoelectric conversion element 10 is the top surface of the thermoelectric conversion layer 12, and the other surface of the thermoelectric conversion element is the bottom surface of the thermoelectric conversion layer 12. The first electrode 13 is disposed on a contact surface of the bottom surface of the absorption layer 18 and of the top surface of the thermoelectric conversion layer 12. The second electrode 15 is disposed on a contact surface of the bottom surface of the thermoelectric conversion layer 12 and of the surface of the substrate.
