Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to obtain a thermal flowmeter with which it is possible to achieve both measuring accuracy and contamination resistance performance simultaneously using a simple, space saving passage structure. This thermal flowmeter 15 includes a housing 32 disposed in a main passage 23 through which a gas being measured flows, takes in the gas being measured from the main passage into an auxiliary passage 51 provided in the housing, and measures the flow rate of the gas being measured by means of a flow rate detecting unit 43 disposed in the auxiliary passage, wherein the auxiliary passage 51 includes an inlet opening portion 52 which opens at an incline with respect to a main flow direction F of the gas being measured that is flowing through the main passage 23, and an inclined passage portion 54 which extends from the inlet opening portion 52 in a direction that is inclined with respect to the main flow direction F of the gas being measured that is flowing through the main passage 23.
