Title:
THERMAL HEAD, AND THERMAL PRINTER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/171524
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a thermal head, a protective layer of which does not readily become separated. [Solution] A thermal head (X1) which comprises: a substrate (7); a heat generating unit (9) that is provided on the substrate (7); electrodes (17, 19) that are provided on the substrate (7), and are electrically connected to the heat generating unit (9); and a protective layer (25) that covers the heat generating unit (9), and a portion of the electrodes (17, 19). The electrodes (17, 19) contain oxygen in a first region (R1) which is deeper than 150 nm from surfaces (17e, 19e) that are positioned at the protective layer (25) side. The present invention is capable of suppressing the separation of the protective layer (25), and the electrodes (17, 19) from one another.
