Abstract:
The present invention relates to a thermal insulator having flame retardancy. An inner air layer (12) is formed by bonding upper and lower surface films (16, 18) made of aluminum on the upper and lower sides of a multi-layered volume thermal insulator (14) partitioned by an inner film (20) having a low emissivity, wherein as the multi-layered volume thermal insulator (14), polyethylene foam, polypropylene foam, melamine foam, ethylene vinyl acetate foam, urethane foam, rubber foam or the like, throughout which a flame retardant is distributed, is selectively used so that the multi-layered volume thermal insulator (14) has a flame retardancy. In particular, the upper surface film (16), which is exposed to the outside upon construction and is subjected to strong heat in the event of a fire, is formed of a single or multiple materials selected from among a thick aluminum foil, an aluminum composite film, an aluminum composite sheet and an aluminum composite felt as a single layer or multiple layers, so as to satisfy not only heat insulation required for a thermal insulator for construction but also the flame retardancy for the fire safety of a building even with a simple structure and a minimum thickness.
