Description:
THERMAL MASK WITH SOUND FOR MIGRAINE RELIEF

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION The present invention can be included in the technical field of masks, in particular a mask having an audio player for relieving migraine discomfort.

More particularly, the object of the invention is a mask preventing light from contacting the eyes, and which allows placing therein essential oils or aromatic fluids for these to flow towards the user nose, with an audio player. The purpose of said mask is to provide heat and healing sounds, thus causing relaxation and relieving the discomfort caused by migraines.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Pain relief has many treatments and very often it is desirable to use natural methods instead of conventional medicine or remedies, especially if these are required to be used for a long period. Headaches or migraines may be caused or intensified by many factors such as, stress, high noise or strong light changes. Therefore, the use of natural oils, perfumes or other aromatic fluids, together with relaxing sounds are used as natural treatments for relieving this pain. In this sense, a mask blocking the contact with light, releasing scents and providing healing sounds would work as a migraine relief.

The use of aromatherapy treatments provides for comfort and relief for the severe pain and stress caused by migraines. Aromatherapy treatments act by application thereof directly to the skin, or through breathing oils from different plants which are absorbed through blood vessels inside the nasal cavity and in the lungs. The device described in the present invention uses this principle to release essential oils into the nose, with the purpose of linking the healing properties in the person and pain relief. The device of the present invention is unique, considering it covers different symptoms with a single treatment, such as sensitivity to light, by using healing scents and allowing the wearer to relax by means of the heat and sound, thus relieving the pain. A solution is required that releases essential oils or aromatic fluids in a way that allows the product to act directly in the nose and ears, blocking the light and noise, so as not to disturb the person affected thereby.

The existing eye masks are not duly suited for pain relief and are mostly directed to benefits in the aesthetic field. The device disclosed in the document US5343561 , granted to Adamo, is a mask system covering ear cavities only providing protection against noise into the ear cavity.

Another device disclosed in US14/75097, applied by Bergman, describes a mask system consisting of a gel pad attached thereto and having holes for the eyes which are aligned with the cavities of the mask. The main object of said invention is a cosmetic use.

Additionally, another device is disclosed in US09/549288, applied to by Burkhart, corresponding to a washable face mask having a pocket means for allowing placement of facial contact elements.

Likewise, another device is found to be disclosed in US3354884, granted to Rudo Ann, showing a cosmetic mask device having eye openings cut onto the mask, and being mainly designed for applying pressure to the face in order to reduce skin swelling, and providing moistening by soaking a pad adhered to the inner side of the mask.

Therefore, considering the above documents, it is necessary to find alternatives directed to a unique medical natural treatment device for severe headaches caused by migraines. The device of the present invention covers different symptoms, with a single treatment, such as light sensitivity, by using healing scents, and allows the user to feel relaxed by means of heat and sounds, thus relieving severe pain interacting through the sight, smell and skin. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention refers to a thermal mask that avoids eye contact with the light and which allows introduction of aromatic fluids or essential oils and their flow into the user's nose, with an audio player. The purpose of said mask is to provide heat and healing sounds together with aromatherapy, thus causing relaxation and relieving the discomfort caused by migraines.

Thus, a first aspect of the present invention refers to a mask device characterized in that it comprises at least:

- a main body made of a cushioning material configured for totally or partially covering the face and for avoiding eye contact with light and - an elastic or adjustable string attached to the ends of the main body and configured for keeping the main body of the mask onto the user's face in the correct position. wherein the main body comprises:

- at least an orifice configured for conducting aromatic fluids and release scents towards the user's nose and

- side wings configured for totally or partially covering the ears allowing isolation of environmental noise, wherein said wings comprise inner audio player devices.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the main body of the thermal mask comprises a heating system configured for transmitting heat to the user. In another preferred embodiment, the heating system comprises a coated filament configured for connecting to an electric wire and transmitting heat.

In another preferred embodiment the main body is made of layers of a soft and flexible material, between which some pads are arranged.

In another preferred embodiment the audio player devices are configured for connecting to any external audio device by means of a wire which allows reproducing relaxing sounds.
