Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a thermal storage unit with decreased height. [Solution] This thermal storage unit (1) transfers heat between an exhaust gas (E) and combustion air (C) by means of a thermal storage material (9). A high temperature-side gas port (12) and low temperature-side gas ports (13, 14) into which the gases (C, E) flow are provided on both ends in the longitudinal direction of the casing in order to circulate the gases in the longitudinal direction inside of the casing (11). An air permeable partition member (15) is provided inside the casing to partition off the low temperature-side gas ports and to confine and deposit the thermal storage material. Inside of the casing, shelf plates (20) are provided positioned spaced from the partition member and oriented in the direction traversing the casing in the lateral width direction. The thermal storage material is injected from a top plate (11d) of the casing to between the partition member and the shelf plates, and said thermal storage material is deposited at an angle of repose θ on the bottom plate (11e) and the shelf plates of the casing, and is filled from the bottom plate to the top plate of the casing.
