Abstract:
In the present invention, thermal transfer image-data is used to form a plurality of image cells on an intermediate transfer ribbon by transferring part of a transfer material layer that has been formed on a transfer ribbon to an image-receiving layer of the intermediate transfer ribbon. A method for creating thermal transfer image data includes: converting a multi-gradation input image into a multi-gradation image having fewer gradations than the input image, using a predetermined threshold value; and performing dither processing for each gradation value in the image.
