Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a thermal transfer sheet provided with a base material and a transfer layer, wherein the transfer layer includes a luminous pigment. The thermal transfer sheet is such that, when the thermal transfer sheet is photographed by an optical microscope with a magnification of 500 times on a transfer layer side to acquire a photographed image, the photographed image is analyzed by image analysis software, lightness and darkness of the obtained analyzed image is reversed, automatic threshold processing is performed on the basis of an ISODATA method to determine a threshold of a brightness distribution in the analyzed image, binarization is performed in which the image is converted into black when a pixel value is less than the threshold and converted into white when the pixel value is the threshold or more, and the number of black parts, a total area of the black parts, and a total area of white parts are acquired, a ratio of the total area of the black parts to the total area of the white parts is from 0.03 to 0.5 inclusive and an average area of the black parts is from 100 μm2 to 300 μm2 inclusive.
