A thermoelectric conversion element (1) is made of a ferromagnetic material of a band structure having a Weyl point in the vicinity of Fermi energy EF, and includes a thermoelectric mechanism which generates an electromotive force due to the anomalous Nernst effect. A state density of the ferromagnetic material exhibits an energy dependency such that an extreme value is located in the vicinity of Fermi energy EF. A thermoelectric coefficient -αyx determining the electromotive force has a temperature (T) dependency of being proportional to -TlogT. When a heat current Q (approximately ∇T) flows in a +x-direction with respect to the thermoelectric conversion element (1), a temperature difference is caused in the +x-direction. As a result, in the thermoelectric conversion element (1), a voltage V (approximately M × ∇T) due to the anomalous Nernst effect is generated in a y-direction orthogonal to both the direction of heat current Q (+x-direction) and the direction of magnetization M (+z-direction).
