Abstract:
Provided are a thermoelectric conversion element, which has low resistance, a high content rate of a thermoelectric conversion material, and high thermoelectric conversion efficiency, a thermoelectric conversion element manufacturing method, by which the thermoelectric conversion element can be efficiently manufactured, and a communication device. The thermoelectric conversion element is provided with a p-type metallic thermoelectric conversion material (11) having a metal as a main component, an n-type oxide thermoelectric conversion material (12) having an oxide as a main component, and a compound oxide insulating material (13) having a compound oxide as a main component. In a part of a junction plane region between the p-type metallic thermoelectric conversion material and the n-type oxide thermoelectric conversion material, the p-type metallic thermoelectric conversion material and the n-type oxide thermoelectric conversion material are directly bonded, and in other junction plane region, a pn junction pair is formed by having the p-type metallic thermoelectric conversion material and the n-type oxide thermoelectric conversion material bonded to each other with the compound oxide insulating material therebetween. A perovskite-type oxide is used as the n-type oxide thermoelectric conversion material, and the n-type oxide thermoelectric conversion material, the p-type metallic thermoelectric conversion material, and a compound oxide insulating material are integrally co-sintered.
