Abstract:
This thermoelectric conversion material comprises a compound semiconductor that contains a plurality of matrix elements and includes an amorphous phase and a granular crystal phase that has an average particle size of 5 nm or more. The plurality of matrix elements includes a specific matrix element for which the band gap increases when the concentration increases. The atom concentration of the specific matrix element included in the crystal phase with respect to the entirety of the plurality of matrix elements included in the crystal phase is higher than the atom concentration of the specific matrix element included in the compound semiconductor with respect to the entirety of the plurality of matrix elements included in the compound semiconductor. The difference between the atom concentration of the specific matrix element included in the compound semiconductor with respect to the entirety of the plurality of matrix elements included in the compound semiconductor and the atom concentration of the specific matrix element included in the crystal phase with respect to the entirety of the plurality of matrix elements included in the crystal phase is 3 at% or more.
