Abstract:
Provided are: a thermoelectric conversion material with a high dimensionless figure of merit ZT; a thermoelectric conversion module; and a method for manufacturing a thermoelectric conversion material. This thermoelectric conversion material (1) comprises: multiple polycrystalline particles (11) with a skutterudite crystal structure including Yb, Co, and Sb; and an inter-particle layer (12), which is present between adjacent polycrystalline particles (11) and comprises crystals (13) with an O to Yb atom ratio greater than 0.4 and less than 1.5. This method for manufacturing a thermoelectric conversion material includes: a weighing step (S1); a mixing step (S2); a ribbon-producing step (S3) for rapidly solidifying a melt of the raw material by rapid solidification to produce a ribbon; a first heat treatment step (S4) for heat-treating in an inert atmosphere in which the oxygen concentration has been adjusted; a second heat treatment step (S5) for heat-treating in a reducing atmosphere; and a pressure sintering step (S6) for pressure sintering in an inert atmosphere to manufacture the thermoelectric conversion material (1).
