Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a thermoelectric element, a power generation device, and a thermoelectric element production method capable of increasing the generation amount of electrical energy. [Solution] A thermoelectric element 1 which converts thermal energy into electrical energy, and which is characterized by being provided with: a first electrode layer 11 formed from one layer of a material other than a refractory metal; a second electrode layer 12 provided separated from the first electrode layer 11 and having a work function which is larger than that of the first electrode layer 11; and an intermediate portion 13 containing nanoparticles 15 and provided between the first electrode layer 11 and the second electrode layer 12.
