Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a thermoelectric element, a power generation device, and a thermoelectric element production method capable of increasing the generation amount of electrical energy. [Solution] A thermoelectric element 1 which converts thermal energy to electrical energy, and which is characterized by being provided with a base material 21 having insulating properties, a lead-out base material 21n laminated upon the base material 21 and having insulating properties, an intermediate portion 25 containing nanoparticles 31 and provided within the base material 21, and a first electrode layer 23 and a second electrode layer 24 sandwiching the intermediate portion 25 and having mutually different work functions, the first electrode layer 23 being in contact with the lead-out base material 21n, and the second electrode layer 24 being provided within the base material 21.
