Abstract:

A thermoplastic polymer composition comprising (A) a block copolymer composed of a polymeric segment prepared mainly from an aromatic vinyl compound and another polymeric segment prepared mainly from isobutylene, and (B) a product of cross-linking of at least one rubber selected from among natural rubbers, diene rubbers, olefinic rubbers, acrylic rubbers and fluororubbers at a weight ratio of (A) to (B) of 90:10 to 10:90; and molded articles and sealing materials made by using the composition. The composition is excellent in processability in molding, gas barrier properties, resistance to compressive set, sealing properties, flexibility, mechanical characteristics, oil resistance, safety, sanitariness and so on and can smoothly be melt-molded into general-purpose moldings or sealing materials such as sealant, packing or gasket, particularly caps and syringe gaskets for medical use.
