Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a fiber-reinforced plastic capable of conforming to shapes of higher complexity while remaining light in weight and maintaining mechanical characteristics. Provided is a thermoplastic prepreg that is formed by impregnating a thermoplastic resin into a discontinuous reinforcing-fiber web and satisfies at least one of the following features (A) and (B). Feature (A): Has a plurality of cut marks that cut at least some of the discontinuous reinforcing fibers constituting the discontinuous reinforcing-fiber web. Feature (B): Has a region of variable fiber lengths in which the coefficient of variation of the fiber lengths of the discontinuous reinforcing fibers constituting the discontinuous reinforcing-fiber web is 40% or more.
