Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide: a thermoplastic resin film which has high retardation, while being suppressed in wavelength dispersion; a method for producing this thermoplastic resin film; and a liquid crystal display device which is provided with this thermoplastic resin film.
A thermoplastic resin film according to the present invention contains a thermoplastic resin that has an oxygen atom content ratio of 35% by mass or less and serves as a main resin and a polyester-based additive that has an aromatic group content ratio of 30% by mass or more. This thermoplastic resin film is characterized in that the degree of orientation f of the main resin in the film is adjusted to be within the range of 0.1-0.5.
