Abstract:
[Problem] The first purpose of the present invention is to provide a thermoplastic resin which has high refractive index, low birefringence and high heat resistance, especially a thermoplastic resin which has excellent optical characteristics. [Solution] 1. A thermoplastic resin which contains 70 mol% or more of repeating units represented by general formula (1) or general formula (2) in all units. (In formula (1), each of R1 and R2 independently represents a hydrocarbon group which may contain an aromatic group having 1-10 carbon atoms; each of n and m independently represents an integer of 0 or more; each of R3-R10 independently represents a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, an iodine atom or a hydrocarbon group which may contain an aromatic group having 1-12 carbon atoms; each of R11 and R12 independently represents a hydrocarbon group which may contain an aromatic group having 1-10 carbon atoms; each of o and p independently represents an integer of 0 or more; and each of R13 and R14 independently represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group which may contain an aromatic group having 1-20 carbon atoms.) (In formula (2), each of R1 and R2 independently represents a hydrocarbon group which may contain an aromatic group having 1-10 carbon atoms; each of n and m independently represents an integer of 0 or more; each of R3-R10 independently represents a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, an iodine atom or a hydrocarbon group which may contain an aromatic group having 1-12 carbon atoms; each of R15 and R16 independently represents a hydrocarbon group which may contain an aromatic group having 1-10 carbon atoms; each of o and p independently represents an integer of 0 or more; and each of R17-R24 independently represents a hydrogen atom, a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, an iodine atom or a hydrocarbon group which may contain an aromatic group having 1-12 carbon atoms.)
