Abstract:

A plurality of sub-trucks (18, 19) are connected via universal couplings (26, 27) in a width direction to a measuring truck (11) travelling on a tank bottom plate (31). Reflection-type ultrasonic probes (22, 23) and coating thickness meters (24, 25) are mounted to respective sub-trucks (18, 19), and a rotary encoder (32) for measuring a truck's travelling distance is mounted to the measuring truck (11). An actual tank bottom plate (31) thickness obtained by subtracting a coating thickness at a specified position of the tank bottom plate (31) measured by the rotary encoder is measured from the outputs of the coating thickness meters (24, 25) and the output of the rotary encoder (32) and stored, thereby displaying on a screen the thicknesses of the tank bottom plate (31) at individual portions.
