Abstract:
The present invention relates to a thin film cholesteric reflective polarizer used for a liquid crystal display. The present invention comprises: a reflective polarization film on which a plurality of cholesteric liquid crystal layers having different pitches are stacked in order to selectively transmit and reflect each random polarized light that forms red, green, and blue wavelength bands among the incident visible rays; and a phase delay plate which converts circularly polarized light that is transmitted through the reflective polarization film into linearly polarized light, wherein the total thickness of each cholesteric liquid crystal layer being stacked does not exceed 6.3㎛. According to such a configuration of the present invention, the invention lowers the generation rate of phase delay by the thin film reflective polarization film, thereby remarkably reducing the distortion of colors caused by a change in the viewing angle.
