Abstract:
In a thin film solar cell (10), a plurality of unit solar cells are formed in common on an insulating substrate (1a), each unit solar cell being formed by: a first electrode layer (1b), a semiconductor layer (1f), and a third electrode layer (1g) being formed on the primary surface of the substrate (1a); a second electrode layer (1c) and a fourth electrode layer (1i) being formed on the other surface of the substrate (1a); and the third electrode layer (1g) being connected with the second electrode layer (1c) and the fourth electrode layer (1i), via a second through hole (h2) that passes through the substrate (1a), the first electrode layer (1b), the second electrode layer (1c), and the semiconductor layer (1f), by a conductor that is insulated from the first electrode layer (1b). The thin film solar cell (10) is formed in a serially linked structure by: electrically insulating adjacent unit solar cells from each other by a machined part of the primary surface whereat the first electrode layer (1b), the semiconductor layer (1f), and the third electrode layer (1g) are removed, and by a machined part of the other surface whereat the second electrode layer (1c) and the fourth electrode layer (1i) are removed; and by an extended part of the first electrode layer (1b) of one unit solar cell being connected with an extended part of the second electrode layer (1c) of an adjacent unit solar cell, via one or more first through holes (h1) that pass through the substrate (1a), by a conductor that is insulated from the third electrode layer (1g) of the unit solar cell. Either an acceleration-deceleration region for forming an inflected structure of the machined part of the other surface or an intersection part of a machined line (P3)that configures the inflected structure is positioned in a region that is locally electrically isolated prior to the formation of the semiconductor layer (1f) on the first electrode layer (1b).
