Abstract:
A human thioredoxin modification which comprises one of the following polypeptides: (a) a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence derived from the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 by alteration or chemical modification of the cysteine residue at the 35-position; and (b) a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence derived from the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 by substitution of the cysteine residue at the 35-position by another amino acid residue, and substitution, deletion, insertion or addition of one or more amino acids at the 32- and 35-positions (preferably at site(s) excluding from the 32- to the 35-positions) in the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2 and having an activity of inducing apoptosis.
