A thread containing body prevents thread which is wound in a figure-of-eight shape from moving within a box. Thread (18) is contained within a rectangular parallelepiped-shaped box (2). The thread (18) is wound in a figure-of-eight shape having two loops and is folded at the crossing of the figure-of-eight shape in such a manner that the two loops are superposed on each other. The crossing is located at the position of the box (2) which is located on one end wall (10) side thereof. A thread movement prevention device (4) is disposed within the box (2). The thread movement prevention device (4) has partition plates (52, 54) located between the two loops. The partition plates (52, 54) are provided with contact sides (56, 58) in contact with the crossing. The thread movement prevention device (4) is provided with a slide plate (44). The slide plate (44) is in contact with the inner surface of the main wall (6) of the box (2) and is joined to the partition plates (52, 54) in such a manner that the slide plate (44) can slide from the end wall (10) side to the opening (12) side of the box (2).
