Abstract:
In the present invention the box-side lip length L is the distance, in the pipe axial direction, from a point P corresponding to the tip of the pin nose of a box member (1) to the load surface (18b) of the lip-side female screw thread (50), that is, the female screw thread closest to the point P corresponding to the tip of the pin nose, and this length L is no less than 300 times the insertion surface clearance δ, that is, the clearance in the pipe axial direction between the insertion surface (19b), which is the surface of the female screw thread at a position two or more revolutions backwards from the lip-side female screw thread (50), and the male screw thread insertion surface (19a), which is the surface facing the insertion surface (19b) when the joint is tightened. In other words, L ≥ 300×δ.
