Three-dimensional cell culture systems necessary for high-density culture which are essentially required in culturing various tissues. In the first embodiment, a three-dimensional cell culture system having a three-dimensional cell culture support which is made of a calcium phosphate-based ceramic material having a high biocompatibility and in the form of spheres with a highly regulated particle diameters (i.e., falling with a range of average particle diameter ± 15%) so as to provide a uniform culture space. In the second embodiment, a three-dimensional cell culture system constructed so that a filter member comes into contact with a cell culture support in the flow direction of a liquid culture medium.
