Abstract:
A three-dimensional data encoding method including: acquiring position information that is generated by a measuring instrument that radially emits an electromagnetic wave toward a plurality of different directions and acquires the reflected wave of the electromagnetic wave having been reflected by a measurement object, the position information including a plurality of first three-dimensional positions on the measurement object (S31); generating a two-dimensional image that includes a plurality of first pixels corresponding to the plurality of directions on the basis of the position information; and generating a bit stream by encoding the generated two-dimensional image (S33). Each of the plurality of first pixels has a pixel value that indicates the first three-dimensional position or attribute information of a three-dimensional point in a three-dimensional point group that corresponds to the direction, out of the plurality of directions, that the first pixel corresponds to.
