Abstract:
A three-dimensional image capture device comprises a light-permeable unit (2), further comprising a plurality of polarized light regions and an unpolarized light region; a solid-state image capture element (1) that receives light that passes through the light-permeable unit (2); an image forming unit (3) that forms an image upon an image forming surface (1a) of the solid-state image capture element (1); and an image generating unit. The light-permeable unit (2) comprises n polarized light regions (P(1), P(2), ... , P(n)), where n is an integer greater than one, which allow light polarized in a particular direction to pass through; and an unpolarized light region (P(n+1)), which allows light to pass through irrespective of the direction of polarization thereof. The directions of the pass-through axes of the n polarized light regions are mutually different. The solid-state image capture element (1) further comprises a pixel array that is divided into a plurality of pixel blocks that respectively include n+1 pixels; and a filter array that includes n polarization filters that are respectively positioned in opposition to n pixels from among the n+1 pixels and the directions of the pass-through axes thereof are mutually different. The image generating unit generates an image from the light that is incident to the n polarized light regions and the unpolarized light region, on the basis of the image signals that are outputted from each respective pixel.
