Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a fuel cell, and a membrane electrode assembly that is used therefor. The membrane electrode assembly is a three-dimensional membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell that is composed of a three-dimensional thin-film structure configured such that an inner part is separated and divided into two sub-spaces that are twisted together by means of an interface, wherein the interface is formed of an MEA thin-film, a first sub-space of the two sub-spaces is provided as a transfer passage for fuel, and a second sub-space is provided as a transfer passage for an oxidiser. The fuel cell includes a casing that houses the three-dimensional membrane electrode assembly thereinside, and that communicates independently with the respective first and second sub-spaces so as to include entrances and exits of the fuel and the oxidiser. According to the present invention, a fuel cell that has high power density and efficiency, that can be manufactured in lightweight and compact forms, and that has a robust structure can be provided.
