Abstract:
The present invention relates to a three-dimensional video display system based on an in-line hologram with a simple structure having an omnidirectional viewing angle on the basis of a centrally symmetric multi-frequency band filtering method, wherein a complex hologram for a real 3D object is reproduced according to calculation, the spatial frequency spectrum thereof is centrally symmetric and segmented into an even number of sector-shaped spectrum areas called a multi-sideband (MSB), the spectrum is divided into two MSB groups through alternate selections for the groups, one MSB group is stored and the other group is removed by a digital filter mask, the stored MSB is converted into the spatial domain by an inverse Fourier transform, an encoded hologram pattern of the converted complex hologram is loaded on an SLM and then converted into the frequency domain, an MSB set of the conjugate image is removed using the optical version of a digital filter mask, an MSB for the real object is converted using an inverse Fourier transform, an image of the real object is finally reconstructed without having any conjugate term, and a target image is reproduced, as an image viewable in almost every direction, from many angle-segmented areas of the spatial-frequency spectrum comprising angle segmentation subsets. The present invention is highly advantageous in that the system can configure a total viewing angle range as segmented viewing range sets even though the total viewing angle range occupies one-half of the entire viewing angle range as in the existing single sideband holography, and can remove a conjugate while removing distribution throughout every angular direction.
