Abstract:
Provided are a threshold matrix creation method, a threshold matrix creation device, and a program which make it possible to freely determine the circumference of a dot pattern on a net percentage basis in accordance with the characteristics of an output system, required quality and the like. The threshold matrix creation method comprises: a step of setting an evaluation function for calculating an image quality evaluation value of a dot pattern corresponding to the arrangement of threshold values in a threshold matrix; a step of setting a dot pattern circumference limit value for each threshold value with respect to at least some of the threshold values; a step of determining, for at least some of the threshold values, pixels that are not more than the circumference limit value as candidates for threshold value arrangement positions; and a step of determining, from among threshold candidate pixels that are the candidates for threshold value arrangement positions, a threshold value arrangement position on the basis of the image quality evaluation value.
