A throttle device and a throttle sensor of an internal combustion engine, wherein a throttle body comprises a throttle valve controlling an intake air flow rate of the internal combustion engine, and an electric actuator driving the throttle valve and its speed reduction gear mechanism, a storage part of the speed reduction gear mechanism is formed in a side wall of the throttle body, a cover covering the storage part is installed on the side wall of the throttle body, a sliding element having a potentiometer type sensor detecting the opening of the throttle valve and sliding on a resistor among the components of the sensor is installed on the peripheral surface of a driven gear provided on the throttle valve stem side of the speed reduction gear mechanism so that the tip of the sliding element faces in the radial direction of a throttle valve stem while the resistor comprises a peripheral surface resistor facing opposedly to the sliding element in radial direction, and a wall part holding the peripheral surface resistor is formed integrally with the cover.
