Abstract:
A flying toy (10) that is thrown into flight. The flying toy (10) has a central hub (18) with a central axis (12). A central opening (20) is formed in the hub (18). Wings (22) radially extend from the central hub (18). Each of the wings (22) has a first section (34) that extends from the hub (18), a second section (36) that extends from the hub (18), and a curved section (38) that joins the first section (34) to the second section (36). A shaped opening (32) is defined in each of the wings (22). The curved section (38) in each of the wings (22) is shaped as an airfoil. The curved sections (38) produce lift as air flows over the curved sections (38) in flight.
